Certified Professional Coder
Ms. Roy is a certified professional coder (CPC) since 2016 with credentials from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). She has worked in the medical industry for over 20 years and has held positions of lead coder, trainer and software support for electronic medical records and practice management software, complete revenue cycle biller, and nursing. Her expertise in coding includes E/M, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Pediatrics, Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Radiology.
Marina’s knowledge and study of contemporary “quality” healthcare concerns coupled with her understanding of MIPS and MACRA has positioned her to guide RTW in such a manner that we are able to incorporate emerging clinician documentation and requirements in current coding and documentation practices that may impact emerging quality-based federal reimbursement programs. This involves deciding on measures that are specific to their type of practice, training coders and providers on the specific documentation requirements, as well as deciding on appropriate reporting methods.
Twenty years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) combined with 20+ years of coding and revenue cycle work provides Ms. Roy with an exceptional skill base for application to the challenging and ever-changing medical auditing environment.
